Hoka Challenger 8 Men's

Hoka Challenger 8 Men's

  • A shoe for all terrains
  • More cushioning – an even more comfortable running experience
  • Secure grip from asphalt to forest trails

What size should I choose?

The Hoka Challenger 8 for men runs true to standard Hoka sizing. Hoka shoes generally run slightly smaller than other brands. If you haven’t tried Hoka shoes before, we recommend going up half a size. The Challenger 8 has a regular fit. If you need a roomier shoe, we recommend a WIDE model, which gives you 3-4 mm of extra width in the toe box and over the instep.

Hoka shoes generally run a little small, so we find that many people choose half a size larger than in other brands. For example, if you wear size 38 in other brands, we recommend choosing size 38 2/3 in Hoka shoes. We recommend following our size guide below, which is based on how Hoka shoes fit.

Wide models
Wide models are marked "wide" in the product name and are 3-4 mm wider in the upper.

Most Hoka models fit quite similarly in length, but there are a few exceptions:

  • Hoka Bondi SR
  • Hoka Mach 6 and 7
  • Hoka Cielo X1 (2.0 & 3.0)
  • Hoka Speedgoat 7
  • Hoka Tecton X 3 and Tecton X 4
  • Hoka Rocket X 3
  • Hoka Skyward X 2
  • Hoka Speedgoat 7
  • Hoka Mach X 3
  • Hoka models with Gore-Tex (does not apply to Challenger 8 GTX)
  • Hoka lifestyle models

Haven't worn Hoka shoes before?
Then we recommend going up one full size in the models listed above.

Have you worn Hoka shoes before?
Then we recommend going up half a size in the models listed above compared with your usual Hoka size (Bondi etc.)

NOTE: Some models feel large (applies only to women's models) for these models, we recommend choosing your usual shoe size.

  • Hoka W Clifton 10
  • Hoka W Arahi 8
  • Hoka W Arahi SR
  • Hoka W Challenger 8

We recommend following our Hoka size guide:

  1. Place a measuring stick on the floor, right next to a wall.
  2. Place your foot on the measuring stick with your heel against the wall and measure the length of your foot.
  3. Use the table below to find the right size based on your measurement in cm.

Challenger ATR 8

Versatility in every step!

The Hoka Challenger 8 is back – now even better! This popular hybrid shoe is made for you to move freely, whether you run on asphalt, gravel roads, or take on light trails. With its updated design, improved comfort, and new outsole, the Challenger 8 is ready for all your adventures.

What's new?
The midsole has more cushioning in the heel, increasing the drop to 8 mm and reducing strain on your calves. It also uses a softer foam for an even more comfortable feel with every step. The shoe also has a slightly wider fit with a roomier toe box – perfect for long runs or if you have slightly wider feet.

Safety and comfort
The thin, breathable mesh upper keeps your foot cool and comfortable even on warm days, while the padding around the ankle provides a snug, secure feel. The heel counter features HOKA's renowned anatomical Achilles construction – easy to put on and take off, and gentle on the Achilles tendon.

Grip in every environment
The outsole has had a major upgrade – a new rubber compound for better traction and redesigned lugs for increased grip on uneven terrain. This makes the Challenger 8 ready for all kinds of surfaces, from city streets to forest trails.

Why you'll love it:
